How to Install Your Italy eSIM
Installing a travel eSIM takes about two minutes and you only do it once. The golden rule: install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly, but leave it turned off until you land in Italy so your validity period starts on arrival, not before. Here is exactly how it works.
What you receive after checkout
The moment your payment clears, you get your eSIM details by email: a QR code, a one-tap install link, and -- as a backup -- the manual SM-DP+ address and activation code. You do not need any of these printed; your phone reads the QR straight from the screen or installs from the link.
Keep that email handy. If you ever reset your phone, you can re-scan the same QR to reinstall the profile during its validity window.
Install on iPhone (iOS 17 and newer)
Open the install link from your confirmation email and tap 'Add eSIM', or go to Settings > Cellular (Mobile Service) > Add eSIM > Use QR Code and point the camera at the QR. iOS adds the plan as a second line.
Label the line something like 'Italy Travel' so it is easy to find. Set your eSIM as the Cellular Data line while you are in Italy, keep Data Roaming ON for the eSIM (it needs roaming to reach the Italian networks), and -- to avoid surprise charges -- turn Data Roaming OFF for your home SIM.
Install on Android (Pixel, Samsung and others)
On a Pixel: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Download a SIM instead? > Next, then scan the QR. On Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR code. Other brands use a near-identical path under the mobile-network settings.
Once added, pick the eSIM for mobile data, enable roaming for that profile, and set your home SIM to Wi-Fi/calls only. Labels and the exact wording vary slightly by manufacturer and Android version, but the three steps -- add, select for data, enable roaming -- are always the same.
When to switch it on
Install on Wi-Fi before departure, but keep the line turned off. When you land in Italy, toggle the eSIM line on (and your home line's data off). Your plan's validity countdown begins with first use on the network, so activating on arrival gives you the full window.
If you do not see service after a few minutes, toggle Airplane Mode on and off, or restart the phone -- that forces a fresh network search. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp and we will walk you through it.
